Hilgendorf's Tube-nosed Bat
Hilgendorf's tube-nosed bat (''Murina hilgendorfi'') is a species of vesper bat in the family Vespertilionidae. In Japan they are called 'tengu komori', after the mythical creature called the Tengu. It was formerly thought to be a subspecies of ''Murina leucogaster'' (called ''Murina leucogaster hilgendorfi''), but is now known to be a distinct species. Distribution Hilgendorf's tube-nosed bat is found in China, Russia (Primorsky Krai, Primorye and Sakhalin), Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Korea and Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu).
