Murchison, KwaZulu-Natal
Murchison is a settlement in the Ugu District Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Geography Murchison is located on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) west of Port Shepstone. It borders the villages of Madakana, Mbotsha, Mdlanzi, Mtengwana and Boboyi. Health facilities Murchison is home to the Murchison District Hospital which is a 300-bed public hospital serving the surrounding rural district. The hospital was opened in 1943 by Mr D. Mitchell. Roads Murchison lies on the N2 national route roughly running E to W from Port Shepstone to Kokstad. Izingolweni
Izingolweni or Ezinqoleni is a town in Ugu District Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. It was founded in the 1870s as a police and administration post. The name comes from the Zulu language word for "place with very shallow holes." Izingolweni also consists of a school called Izingolweni Primary which is rumored that it was built by the community. This very school is the center of excellence in the place. It is very exceptional and produces very fine learners each year. Administration Ezinqoleni is administered by the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality which governs the Lower South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Kokstad
Kokstad is a town in the Harry Gwala District Municipality of KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. Kokstad is named after the Griqua chief Adam Kok III who settled here in 1863. Kokstad is the capital town of the East Griqualand region, as it is also the biggest town in this region. It was built around Mount Currie, a local mountain range, by the city's founder Adam Kok III, for whom the town is named. ''Stad'' is the Dutch and Afrikaans word for "city". The town is built on the outer slopes of the Drakensberg and is 1,302 m above sea level. Behind it Mount Currie rises to a height of 2,224 m. It is a centre for cheese and other dairy products. Boboyi
Boboyi, or Bhobhoyi, is a settlement in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Port Shepstone
Port Shepstone is a large town situated on the mouth of the Mzimkhulu River, the largest river on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast of South Africa. It is located halfway between Hibberdene and Margate and is positioned 120 km south of Durban. It is the administrative, educational and commercial centre for southern Natal. History Port Shepstone was founded in 1867 when marble was discovered near the Mzimkhulu River mouth and is named after Sir Theophilus Shepstone of the Natal government of the 1880s. William Bazley built a harbour, and the first coaster entered the harbour on May 8, 1880. In 1882 a party of 246 Norwegian immigrants settled in the town and subsequently started to play a major role in the development of the area. South African Standard Time
South African Standard Time (SAST) is the time zone used by all of South Africa as well as Eswatini and Lesotho. The zone is two hours ahead of UTC ( UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central Africa Time. Daylight saving time is not observed in either time zone.
