Mupliyam is a small village near Pudukkad town in Thrissur district of Kerala state, south India. It is located 9 km away from NH 544 from '' Pudukad '' which is 13 km from Thrissur town. Mupliyam comes under Chalakudy Taluk and Varandarappilly Panchayath. The river which passes through Mupliyam becomes Kurumali river (Mupliyam river). Muniyattukunnu of Mupliyam is famous for its dolmens, which were declared as protected monument as per Government proceeding. Only one dolmen stands intact at Muniyattukunnu. Kurumali River
The Kurumali River is a major tributary of the Karuvannur River in the Thrissur district of Kerala. It originates in the Western Ghats in the Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary of Thrissur District. Course The Kurumali River has its origin on the slopes of the Western Ghats in the Chimmony Wildlife Sanctuary of the Thrissur district. The Chimmony dam is built across the Kurumali River. The Muply River joins the Kurumali river in Karikulam. Chalakudy is a municipal town situated on the banks of Chalakudy River in Thrissur district of the Kerala state in India. It is the headquarters of Chalakudy taluk. It is the base camp for travellers to Athirappilly Falls and Vazhachal Falls. Thrissur
Thrissur (), formerly Trichur, also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur, is a city and the headquarters of the Thrissur district in Kerala, India. National Highway 544, commonly referred to as NH 544, (''old number'' NH 47) is a National Highway in South India connecting Salem city in Tamil Nadu to the city of Kochi in Kerala. It is also called the Salem-Kochi Highway.
