Munkfors Municipality
Munkfors Municipality (''Munkfors kommun'') is a municipality in Värmland County in west central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Munkfors. In 1952 the rural municipality Ransäter got the title of a market town (''köping'') and the name Munkfors after its only built-up locality. With the local government reform of 1971 it became a municipality of unitary type without addition of territory. The municipality is today the 9th smallest by population in Sweden. In Ransäter lies the Geijer School, in honour of author Erik Gustaf Geijer (1783-1843), who was born at the Ransäter farm. A second notable Ransäter native was Tage Erlander (1901-1985), who was Prime Minister of Sweden 1946-1969. The municipality has one sister city: Lindsborg, Kansas, U.S.A. Värmland County
Värmland County (''Värmlands län'') is a county or '' län'' in west central Sweden. It borders the Swedish counties of Dalarna, Örebro and Västra Götaland, as well as the Norwegian counties of Viken and Innlandet to the west. Prince Carl Philip is Duke of Värmland. Klarälven
Klarälven ("The clear river" in Swedish) is a river flowing through Norway and Sweden. Together with Göta älv, which it is called as the river has passed through the lake Vänern, thus regarded as an entity, Göta älv—Klarälven is the longest river in Scandinavia and in the Nordic countries and its Swedish part the longest river of Sweden. These two rivers also have the largest drainage basin in the same areas, including all the rivers that run into Vänern, of which is located in Sweden and in Norway. It emanates at the northeast side of Mount Brändstöten and flows through a couple of smaller lakes down to Lake Rogen in Härjedalen, Sweden, and then passes through the Norwegian Hedmark, where it flows through the lake Femunden. Hagfors Municipality (''Hagfors kommun'') is a municipality in Värmland County in west central Sweden. Its seat is located in the city of Hagfors. The present municipality was created in 1974, when the City of Hagfors (itself instituted as a municipal entity in 1950 as one of the last cities in Sweden) was amalgamated with three rural municipalities.
