The Municipality of Laško (; sl, Občina Laško) is a Municipalities of Slovenia, municipality in eastern Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Laško. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Styria, Styria. The municipality is now included in the Savinja Statistical Region. Jurklošter
Jurklošter () is a settlement in the Municipality of Laško in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Savinja Statistical Region. Name The settlement was first attested around 1145 as ''Geyrowe'' (later forms: ''de Giurio'', ''Gyriov'', ''Geyrach''), all referring to the Slovenian prefix ''Jur-'' '(Saint) George'. The suffix ''-klošter'' means 'monastery' and the name Jurklošter therefore refers to a religious edifice dedicated to Saint George. The pre-1972 name of the settlement, ''Mišji Dol'', also refers to a monastery because it literally means 'monks' valley' (''mišji'' < ''meniški'' 'monk') (but cf. '' Mišji Dol'' in the Municipality of Šmartno pri Litiji, literally 'mouse valley'). The name of the settlement was changed from ''Mišji Dol'' to ''Jurklošter'' in 1972.

Huda Jama
Huda Jama (, german: Hudajama) is a settlement east of Laško in east-central Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Styria. It is now included with the rest of the Municipality of Laško in the Savinja Statistical Region. History Lignite mining was begun at Huda Jama in 1813 by the Gadolla family. The mine was operated by various owners until 1855, when Paul von Putzer transferred operations to Brezno in 1855. Mining was resumed in Huda Jama in 1890. During the Second World War, the Partisans attacked German positions at Huda Jama on 2 July 1942 and 25 March 1944. After the second attack, they used the mine in the settlement as a shelter.
