Generation The statistical data show that with the increase in the GDP per capita of Winnipeg, waste generation decreased due to the increased effectiveness of the municipal waste management plan after 2005. It also includes the strategies used by the city of Winnipeg to treat municipal waste. Treatment On October 19, 2011, the Winnipeg City Council approved the master plan of a comprehensive waste management plan, requested by the City Council to the Public Service on June 23, 2010, for the entire city to increase the waste diversion rate to 50% or more.
