Munford High School is a public high school located in Munford, Tennessee. The school educates about 1,300 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Tipton County School District. General information Munford High School is noted in West Tennessee for its diverse academic offerings, high quality teachers, and its commitment to athletics and the arts, most notably its band program, regarded by some to be one of the best in Tennessee. The test scores show the school to be about the state average if not above average in some areas such as math. Munford High School's English and EOC Gateway exams were the highest in the state for the 2005-2006 school year and its 2009 State Writing Assessment scores were in the 99th percentile. Munford is a city in Tipton County, Tennessee, Tipton County, Tennessee. The population was 5,927 at the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, when it was listed as a town. History Beginning as a small village which grew around the Mt. Zion Methodist Episcopal Church in the early 1850s, it was officially named "Mt. Zion" after the opening of a post office there in 1856. This office closed in 1874, and in 1886 when Mt. Zion applied to the United States Post Office Department to have it reopened, the application was approved on the condition that it do so with a new name, to avoid confusion with Mt. Zion, Pennsylvania. At that time Pennsylvania was commonly abbreviated as "Penn" and Tennessee was commonly abbreviated "Tenn." The newly appointed Post Master G. B. Richard Aaron Fultz (born September 4, 1973), is an American former professional baseball relief pitcher, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB), in all or parts of seven seasons, for five big league teams. Amanda Hope Partlow (born May 31, 1988) is an American pop singer from Drummonds, Tennessee. Biography Partlow grew up singing gospel and country songs in her native town. She was a popular act at the local Strand Theatre. While still in her early teens, a demo she and her family had self-produced, made its way to an aunt working as a songwriter in Nashville. Eventually, the recording found the ear of producer and Virgin CEO, Matt Serletic, and by the time Partlow was 14, she had signed her first contract. Her first album, titled ''Who We Are'', was released September 6, 2005. Jacob Noe
Jacob Noe (born July 29, 1980) is an American professional mixed martial artist who competes in Bellator's Light Heavyweight division. A professional competitor from 2000 until 2013, he also competed for Strikeforce. Background Noe was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Munford. Noe grew up in a rough neighborhood and began training in karate at the age of six, and then transitioned into Tae Kwon Do when he was 17. Noe attended Munford High School along with fellow Bellator Light Heavyweight and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, who Noe would befriend.
