''Magic Adventures of Mumfie'' is a British animated children's television series and movie, inspired by the works of Katharine Tozer (1907-1943) with an original music score containing more than 22 songs. The series was created by Britt Allcroft, the creator of ''Thomas & Friends'' and its US debut, ''Shining Time Station'', produced by The Britt Allcroft Company (then renamed to Gullane Entertainment, now owned by Mattel Television) and Quality Family Entertainment, narrated by American actor Patrick Breen and directed by John Laurence Collins, ''Mumfie'' was first seen in the United States on FOX from 1995 to 1996, as part of ''The Fox Cubhouse''. Gullane Entertainment PLC was a British independent production company which produced children's programming, including ''Thomas & Friends'' (1984–2021), ''Shining Time Station'' (1989–1993), and '' The Magic Adventures of Mumfie'' (1994–1998). Britt Allcroft (born Hilary Mary Allcroft, 14 December 1943) is a British writer, producer, director and voice actress. She is the creator of the children's television series ''Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends'' (later re-titled ''Thomas & Friends''), ''Shining Time Station'' (with Rick Siggelkow), ''Mr. Conductor's Thomas Tales'' and ''Magic Adventures of Mumfie''. She also wrote, co-produced and directed the film ''Thomas and the Magic Railroad'' (2000). Early life She was born Hilary Mary Allcroft on 14 December 1943 in Worthing, West Sussex, England. At the age of 16, she changed her first name to Britt as her career in British radio and television gained momentum. Joseph Patrick Breen (born October 26, 1960) is an American actor, screenwriter, and director. Early life Breen was born in Brooklyn, New York, on October 26, 1960. Career He has acted primarily on TV but has also appeared in numerous films, as well as on Broadway and Off Broadway. In 2010, he starred on Broadway in ''Next Fall''. He is currently playing Andrew Munsey, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, on the CBS drama '' Madam Secretary''.
