Maharaj Krishan Kaushik
Maharaj Krishan Kaushik (2 May 1955 – 8 May 2021) was a member of the India men's national field hockey team and coach of the India women's national field hockey team. Biography He was a member of the team when it won the gold medal at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. In 1998, he received the Arjuna Award. He also wrote the book ''The Golden Boot.'' For his coaching contribution to Indian hockey he received the Dronacharya Award in 2002. He died on 8 May 2021 to COVID-19 in New Delhi during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. ''Chak De India'' Kaushik was involved in the development of the 2007 Bollywood film ''Chak De India.'' Its screenplay was written by Bollywood screenwriter Jaideep Sahni. Simon Mantell
Simon Douglas Mantell (born 24 April 1984) is an English field hockey forward. He is the younger brother of Richard Mantell. Mantell currently plays for Exeter University Hockey Club. Mantell made his international senior debut for the national squad on 9 November 2005 versus Ireland at Beeston. He was a member of the England squad that finished fifth at the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup. He competed at the 2010 and 2011 Champions Trophy, and was also part of the winning squad at the 2009 EuroHockey Championship. Mantell has also represented Great Britain and was part of the side that returned victorious from the Olympic qualifying event in Chile, as well as competing at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Sandeep Singh (born 27 February 1986) is an Indian professional field hockey player from Haryana and an ex-captain of the Indian national hockey team. He generally features as a full back and is a penalty corner specialist for the team. He has been dubbed "Flicker Singh" in the media for his specialization of the drag-flick, one of the fastest in the world. Singh holds a DSP rank in the Haryana Police. Glenn Maitland Turner (born 26 May 1947) played cricket for New Zealand and was one of the country's best and most prolific batsmen. He is the current head of the New Zealand Cricket selection panel. The 2014 Hockey India League (known as the Hero Hockey India League for sponsorship reasons), abbreviated as HIL 2014, is the second season of the professional field hockey tournament, Hockey India League. 2013 Hockey India League, known as Hero Hockey India League and abbreviated as HIL 2013 was the first season of the field hockey tournament Hockey India League. Tournament was scheduled to start from 5 January to 3 February but was postponed to 14 January to 10 February. Joel Carroll (born September 1986 in Darwin) is an Australian field hockey player. He played club field hockey for University team in the Darwin Hockey Association A-Grade league, and for the NT Stingers in the Australian Hockey League. He was a member of Australia's junior U21 team. He also represented Australia on the senior men's team, winning a gold medal with the side at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and the 2010 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy.
