Johnny Dole & the Scabs were an early Australian punk rock group formed in 1976 by Terry Walsh ( Johnny Dole) on lead vocals, Dave Berry on bass guitar and vocals, Peter Mullany on guitar and Greg Morris on drums and vocals. They disbanded mid 1979. A compilation album, ''Scab Animal 1977'', was released in 1996. Terry Walsh died on 9 August 1987, aged 33. History The four founding members of Johnny Dole & the Scabs had all been members of a Sydney-based covers band, the Strays. By early 1977 that group were playing some original material including punk rock tracks. Their guitarist, Mark Wong See, left and Johnny Dole & the Scabs were formed by Terry Walsh ( Johnny Dole) on lead vocals, Dave Berry on bass guitar and vocals, Peter Mullany on guitar and Greg Morris on drums and vocals. James Robert Madison Mullany (26 October 1818 – 17 September 1887) was a rear admiral of the United States Navy, who served during the American Civil War. Biography Mullany was the son of Colonel James R. Mullany and Maria Burger. Colonel Mullany, born in Ireland, had served in the War of 1812, and was Quartermaster General of the United States Army from 1816 until 1818. His son, James Robert Madison Mullany, was born in New York City, and entered the navy as a midshipman on 7 January 1832. He was promoted to passed midshipman on 23 June 1838, and to lieutenant on 29 February 1844. During the Mexican–American War he took part in the capture of the city of Tabasco, Mexico, in June 1847. Mullany was best known for his portrayal of White Mike in the 1990s comedy sitcom ''The Wayans Bros'' and as Nick Freno in the sitcom '' Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher'', which both aired on The WB. The Antigua honeymoon murders refer to the murder of Ben Mullany, (1977–2008), and Catherine Mullany, (1977–2008), two British newlywed health professionals (a student physiotherapist and a doctor) who were murdered during their honeymoon in Antigua. Brother Azarias (Patrick Francis Mullany) (b. near Killenaule, County Tipperary, Ireland, 29 June 1847) was an Irish-American educator, essayist, littérateur, and philosopher. Life His education began at home, and after his family moved to Deerfield, New York, U.S.A., continued in the union school of that place, and subsequently in the Christian Brothers' Academy at Utica. Believing himself called to the life of a religious teacher, he entered the novitiate of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, in New York City, on 24 February 1862. He taught in Albany, New York City, and Philadelphia until 1866, when he was called to the professorship of mathematics and literature in Rock Hill College, Ellicott City, Maryland.
