Mukurwe-ini
Mûkûrwe'inî was a former district in Nyeri County, Kenya. Mûkûrwe'inî was elevated from a division to district status in 2008. The old Mûkûrwe'inî Divisional boundaries remained as the new district's boundaries. Before Kenya's Independence in 1963, Mûkûrwe'inî was referred to as South Tetu Division. It was one of the seven new districts that were created out of the old Nyeri District of Central Province of Kenya. The district headquarters were located at Kiahungu Township which is also the commercial hub for Mûkûrwe'inî. In 2010, the district was merged with others to form Nyeri County. Overview Mûkûrwe'inî District bordered Ndia Constituency, ( Kirinyaga County) to the south-east, Mathira and Tetu Constituencies to the North, Othaya Constituency to the West and Kiharu and Mathioya Constituencies and ( Muranga County) to the south. Nyeri County is a county located in the central region of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Nyeri. It has a population of 759,164 and an area of 2361 km2. It is currently under the leadership of H.E. Governor Mutahi Kahiga. Other governors who have led this county include Nderitu Gachagua, who passed while receiving treatment in London, Wamathai Samuel Githaiga, and Wahome Gakuru, who died in a road accident at Kabati near Kenol heading towards Thika Super Highway. Lucy Kibaki
Lucy Muthoni Kibaki (13 January 1936 – 26 April 2016) was the wife of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and was First Lady of Kenya from 2002 to 2013. Biography Lucy Muthoni was born in 1936. Her parents were Rev. John Kagai, a pastor of the Presbyterian Church of East Africa and Rose Nyachomba, in Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County, (formerly Nyeri District in Central Province), Kenya. She was educated at Alliance Girls High School, then trained as a teacher, working first at Kamwenja Teachers College and later at Kambui College in Kiambu, where she rose to the post of principal. She met Mwai Kibaki in 1959. After a two-year romance, they married in 1961, with Lucy quitting her teaching career in 1963. Kabando Wa Kabando
Kabando wa Kabando (born in August, 1967) is a Kenyan politician and activist. He represented the Mukurweini Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya for two terms having been elected for the first time in the 2007 Kenyan general election under the Safina Party which he was a member until 2022. Education Kabando went to University of Nairobi and pursued Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in International Training in Corporate Governance and Leadership between 1990 and 1993. Later, he did his Masters in Public Policy & Management at State University of New York, USA between 1999-2001. In 2008, he received a Distinguished Alumnus award from SUNYSB. Waruhiu Itote (1922 – 30 April 1993, aged 70-71), ''nom de guerre'' General China, was one of the key leaders of the Mau Mau Uprising (1952–1960) in British Kenya alongside Dedan Kimathi, Stanley Mathenge, Kurito ole Kisio, Musa Mwariama and Muthoni Kirima. Central Province (Kenya)
The Central Province ( sw, Kati, ) was a region in central Kenya until 2013, when Kenya's provinces were replaced by a system of counties. It covered an area of and was located to the north of Nairobi and west of Mount Kenya (''see maps''). The province had 4,383,743 inhabitants according to the 2009 census. The provincial headquarters was Nyeri. Central Province was the ancestral home of the Gikuyu people. Muranga
Murang'a (or Muranga) is a town in Murang'a County of Kenya. Before the independence of Kenya in 1963, this town used to be called Fort Hall. It is the administrative centre of Murang'a County and is mainly inhabited by the Kikuyu community. According to the 2019 census, the town has a population of about 110,000. Wajee Nature Park
Wajee Nature Park is a bird conservancy and nature park in Mukuruwe-ini, central Kenya. It is set between Mount Kenya and the Aberdare Range north of Nairobi.
