Mukne Dynasty
Mukne Dynasty or Mukane Dynasty (also spelled as Mukna, Mookna, Mookne, and Mukni) was the ruling dynasty of the Jawhar State. Koli chief Jayabha Mukne founded it in the middle of the 14th century. It traces its origin from Mukane. The Mukne Dynasty ruled Jawhar for six hundred years, up until 1947. Maharaja
Mahārāja (; also spelled Maharajah, Maharaj) is a Sanskrit title for a "great ruler", "great king" or " high king". A few ruled states informally called empires, including ruler raja Sri Gupta, founder of the ancient Indian Gupta Empire, and Chandragupta Maurya. 'Title inflation' soon led to most being rather mediocre or even petty in real power, which led to compound titles (among other efforts) being used in an attempt to distinguish some among their ranks. The female equivalent, Maharani (or Maharanee, Mahārājñī, Maharajin), denotes either the wife of a Maharaja (or Maharana etc.) or also, in states where it was customary, a woman ruling without a husband. Jayaba Mukne
Jayaba Mukne or Jaideoraoji Mukne also known as ''Paupera'' and ''Jagappa Nayak Mukne'' was first Koli ruler of Jawhar State. He also spelled as ''Jayaba Mukne'', ''Jayaba Mookna'', ''Jayab Mookney'', ''Joya Mookney'', ''Jayab Mukne'', ''Jayaba Mukna''. He founded the Jawhar State and Mukne Dynasty in 1306 which ruled for over six hundred years till 1947. History He built the Mahalakshmi Temple, Dahanu on the installation of the flag of jawhar. Thana Agency
The Jawhar State was a princely state in India. As a princely state, it became a part of Bombay Presidency during the British Raj. It was the only state belonging to the Thana Agency. The last Koli Ruler of Jawhar at Indian independence was Maharaja Yashwantrao Martandrao Mukne (Patangshah Mukne). The coat of arms consisted of a shield in three parts; dexter, tenne a dexter fist holding two crossed arrows (points dexter) and a bow, all argent; sinister, argent a round shield sable bordured or, in the chief argent, a sword or pointed sinister. The flag was a rectangular saffron swallow-tail with a star of eleven rays, yellow in the canton. Kolis
The Koli is an Indian caste found in Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Odisha and Jammu and Kashmir states in India. Koli is an agriculturist caste of Gujarat but in coastal areas they also work as fishermen along with agriculture. In the beginning of 20th century, the Koli caste was recognised as a Criminal Tribe under Criminal Tribes Act by British Indian government because of their anti-social activities during World War I. The Koli caste forms the largest caste-cluster in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, comprising 24% and 30% of the total population in those states respectively.
