Syed Mujtaba Ali ( bn, সৈয়দ মুজতবা আলী; 13 September 1904 – 11 February 1974) was a Bengali writer, journalist, travel enthusiast, academic, scholar and linguist. He lived in Bangladesh, India, Germany, Afghanistan and Egypt. Early life and education Ali was born on 13 September 1904 to a Bengali Muslim family in Karimganj, Sylhet district, British Raj. His father, Khan Bahadur Syed Sikander Ali, was a sub-registrar. He traced his paternal descent to Shah Ahmed Mutawakkil, a local holy man and a Syed of Taraf, though apparently unrelated to Taraf's ruling Syed dynasty. Golam Mujtaba ( ur, ) (born 16 December 1955) is a Pakistani-American Muhajir politician. He served as the provincial advisor in Sindh from 1992 to 1994. He was the leader of the coalition party to the Sindh Government from 1992 to 1994. Mohammad Asif Mujtaba (Urdu: آصف مجتبیٰ, born 4 November 1967) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played in 25 Test matches and 66 One Day Internationals from 1986 to 1997. Kazi Mujtaba (born 1908) was a Pakistani politician. He hailed from Meerut, United Provinces of Agra and Oudh. Kazi worked as a primary school teacher in Karachi. He was a key figure in the founding of the Sind Communist Party in 1942. As a trade union leader he challenged the influence on Narain Bechar Das in the Karachi labour movement. Das had veered towards M.N. Roy's Indian Federation of Labour, and in response the Communist Party of India managed to get Kazi elected as new leader of the Sind Provincial Trade Union Congress.
