Muhammad Hussain Fahimi
Muhammad Hussain Fahimi ( prs, محمد حسین فهیمی) is an Afghan politician who represented the Sar-e Pol province in the 15th and 16th term of the Afghanistan Parliament. Early life Muhammad Hussain Fahimi was born in 1963 in the Balkhab district of Sar-e-Pul Province in northern Afghanistan. He pursued his religious education in Iran, obtaining his bachelor's degree there, and later earned a bachelor's degree in Law and Political Science from Kateb University. His career began as an Afghan Warlord in Sar-e-Pul province after the Taliban took control over Afghanistan in 1996. He formed an anti-Taliban front in the Balkhab area of Sar-E Pul. Additionally, he holds the rank of a four-star general in the Afghan National Army (ANA) and served as the director of logistics for the 209 Shahin Command. The Leadership Council of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, also translated as the Supreme Council, () (also referred to as the Inner Shura) is the central governing body of the Taliban and Afghanistan. The Taliban uses a consensus decision-making model among members of the Leadership Council, though the supreme leader, who chairs the council, has ultimate authority and may override or circumvent it at any time. It played a key role in directing the Taliban insurgency from Quetta, Pakistan, which led to it being informally referred to as the Quetta Shura at the time. Balkhab ( fa, بلخاب) is a district of Sar-e Pol Province, Afghanistan. The district seat lies at Balkhab, also known as Tarkhoj. Coal is mined in the area. A massive copper deposit is also located in Balkhab district of Sar-e pol province, the new copper discovery is bigger than the current Aynak copper deposit in Logar province, southeast of Kabul, according to a GSA report. It is valued at billions of U.S. dollars and one of the biggest untapped copper mines in Afghanistan. The discovery appears to be a volcano genetic massive sulfide deposit—a deposit type which could supply much of the world's gold, copper, lead and zinc. Sar-e Pol Province
Sar-e Pol, also spelled Sari Pul (Dari/Pashto: ), is one of the thirty-four provinces of Afghanistan, located in the north of the country. It borders Ghor and Bamyan to the south, Samangan to the east, Balkh and Jowzjan to the north, and Faryab to the west. The province is divided into 7 districts and contains 896 villages. It has a population of about 632,000, which is multi-ethnic and mostly a tribal society. The province was created in 1988, with the support of northern Afghan politician Sayed Nasim Mihanparast. The city of Sar-e Pol serves as the provincial capital. In 2021, the Taliban gained control of the province during the 2021 Taliban offensive.
