Muhammad Abdullah Malibari
Muhammad Abdullah Malibari (Arabic: محمد عبد الله مليباري ) was a Saudi writer, storyteller, journalist and critic, who is considered as one of the pioneers of journalism and story in the Kingdom. Along with Fouad Angawi he founded ''Al Riyada'' (Sports), the first sports newspaper in the history of Saudi Arabia. He was born in 1931 in Makkah and studied Islamic Law in the Islamic College, Kolkata, India in 1972, Madrasah as-Sawlatiyah and Madrasa al Falah in Makkah. His family belongs to Hadhramaut of Yemen and to Malabar of Kerala. Career In the beginning of his journalistic career, he worked with newspapers like ''Bilad'', ''Al-Nadwa'' and ''Quraish'' in Saudi Arabia. Later on, along with Fouad Angawi he founded ''Al Riyada'' newspaper. Madrasah as-Sawlatiyah ( ar, مدرسة الصولتية , ''Madrasah aṣ-Ṣawlatīyah;'' or abbreviation: "al-Sawlatiyya") is an Islamic school in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the oldest continuing school in Saudi Arabia. History Al-Sawlatiyya was founded in 1873 by Rahmatullah Kairanawi. Kairanawi had been appointed as a lecturer at the Masjid al-Haram by the Sheikh al-Ulama (Leading Scholar) Ahmad Zayni Dahlan. He started teaching and felt that lessons were delivered as sermons rather than planned academic lectures. He gathered with Indian Muslim immigrants and wealthy benefactors to establish an authentic Islamic Law School to teach the Islamic sciences through what he saw as a more sound curriculum. Hadhramaut ( ar, حَضْرَمَوْتُ \ حَضْرَمُوتُ, Ḥaḍramawt / Ḥaḍramūt; Hadramautic: 𐩢𐩳𐩧𐩣𐩩, ''Ḥḍrmt'') is a region in South Arabia, comprising eastern Yemen, parts of western Oman and southern Saudi Arabia. The name is of ancient origin, and is retained in the name of the Yemeni Governorate of Hadhramaut. The people of Hadhramaut are called Hadhrami.
