Muftiship of Kumanovo (Macedonian language, Macedonian Cyrillic: ''Муфтиство Куманово'') is one of the 13 muftiships of Islamic Religious Community of Macedonia in Kumanovo, North Macedonia. Current Mufti is Abedin Imeri (''Абедин Имери''). New building of the Muftiship was opened on July 11th, 2016. Bursa Mayor Recep Altepe was one of the guests of the ceremony. Macedonian Language
Macedonian (; , , ) is an Eastern South Slavic language. It is part of the Indo-European language family, and is one of the Slavic languages, which are part of a larger Balto-Slavic branch. Spoken as a first language by around two million people, it serves as the official language of North Macedonia. Most speakers can be found in the country and its diaspora, with a smaller number of speakers throughout the transnational region of Macedonia. Macedonian is also a recognized minority language in parts of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, and Serbia and it is spoken by emigrant communities predominantly in Australia, Canada and the United States. Macedonian developed out of the western dialects of the East South Slavic dialect continuum, whose earliest recorded form is Old Church Slavonic. Islam In North Macedonia
Muslims in North Macedonia represent a third of the nation's total population according to the census of 2002, making Islam the second most widely professed religion in the country. Muslims in North Macedonia follow Sunni Islam of the Hanafi madhhab. Some northwestern and western regions of the country have Muslim majorities. A large majority of all the Muslims in the country are ethnic Albanians, with the rest being primarily Turks, Romani, Bosniaks or Torbeš. Skopje ( , , ; mk, Скопје ; sq, Shkup) is the capital and largest city of North Macedonia. It is the country's political, cultural, economic, and academic centre. The territory of Skopje has been inhabited since at least 4000 BC; remains of Neolithic settlements have been found within the old Kale Fortress that overlooks the modern city centre. Originally a Paeonian city, Scupi became the capital of Kingdom of Dardania, Dardania in the second century BC. On the eve of the 1st century AD, the settlement was seized by the Romans and became a military camp.
