Mr Blue (Yazoo Song)
"Mr Blue" is a song by English synth-pop duo Yazoo, which was released in 1983 on their second and final studio album ''You and Me Both''. The song, written by Vince Clarke, was notably covered by Dutch singer René Klijn in 1993. Yazoo version Background "Mr Blue" was one of five tracks to be written by Clarke for ''You and Me Both''. It was recorded at Blackwing Studios in London and produced by Yazoo with Eric Radcliffe. Speaking to ''Melody Maker'' in 1983, Clarke commented, "''You and Me Both'' sprobably more serious than the last album. Alison's always written serious lyrics. I've had a bash at it. Yazoo (band)
Yazoo (known as Yaz in North America) were an English synth-pop duo from Basildon, Essex, consisting of former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke (keyboards) and Alison Moyet (vocals). The duo formed in late 1981 after Clarke responded to an advertisement Moyet placed in a British music magazine, although the pair had known each other since their schooldays. Over the next 18 months the duo released two albums, ''Upstairs at Eric's'' and '' You and Me Both'', which received critical acclaim for their production, particularly the blending of Clarke's synthesizer melodies with Moyet's blues- and soul-influenced vocals. "Only You" is a song by English synth-pop duo Yazoo. It was written by member Vince Clarke, while he was still with Depeche Mode, but recorded in 1982 after he formed Yazoo with Alison Moyet. It was released as Yazoo's first single on 15 March 1982 in the United Kingdom, taken from their first album, ''Upstairs at Eric's'' (1982), and became an instant success on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number two on 16 May 1982. It would also reach the top 10 in neighbouring Ireland as well as Australia. Brian Hibbard
Brian Hibbard (26 November 1946 – 17 June 2012) was a Welsh actor and singer from Ebbw Vale, Wales, best remembered as the lead vocalist in the original The Flying Pickets. Early life and career Hibbard was born into a working class family in Ebbw Vale, Monmouthshire, and had a socialist upbringing. He was educated at Ebbw Vale Grammar School. After various jobs including teacher, steel worker, barman and chimney sweep, he formed The Flying Pickets with a group of other actors who had practised a cappella singing while travelling by coach to their appearances. Following the group's success in the early 1980s, Hibbard went on to pursue a career as a television actor, appearing in ''Coronation Street'' as garage mechanic Doug Murray, in ''Emmerdale'' as Bobby-John Downes, and as Johnny Mac in the Welsh language soap ''Pobol y Cwm'' as well as the youth drama ''Pam Fi, Duw?''.
