Mr. Yogi (TV Series)
Mr. Yogi is an Indian comedy mini television series which aired from 1988 to 1989 on DD 1. It is a story of a USA settled Indian boy trying to arrange his marriage in India. It was produced and directed by Ketan Mehta, and starred Mohan Gokhale. It was based on the Gujarati novel ''Kimball Ravenswood'' by Madhu Rye which was later adapted into the 2009 movie '' What's Your Raashee?'' Story An MBA student from America, Yogesh Ishwarlal Patel (a. k. a. Y. I. Patel or Mr. Yogi), meets 12 girls and tries to select one of them as his bride in India. Om Puri narrated the story. The story revolves around Yogi and his search for a perfect bride. Ketan Mehta
Ketan Mehta (born 21 July 1952) is an Indian film director who has also directed documentaries and television serials since 1975. Early life and education Born on 21 July 1952 in Navsari in Gujarat, Mehta did his schooling from Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Delhi and later graduated in film direction from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Career During his career, Mehta has made ten feature films, seven documentaries and two television serials – ''Captain Vyom'' and '' Mr. Yogi''. His repertoire of themes includes comedy, satire, romance, violence and rebellion. Madhu Rye is a Gujarati playwright, novelist and story writer. Born in Gujarat and educated at Calcutta, he started writing in the 1960s and became known for his stories and plays.
