Universe Championships
The Universe Championships are annual worldwide bodybuilding events organised by the National Amateur Body-Builders' Association (NABBA). Originally promoted as the contest, the event was expanded to include women's classes in 1968. Notable previous winners include bodybuilder, actor, and former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger, and bodybuilder and actor Steve Reeves (1926–2000). The Universe Championships includes the following classes: History In 1948 David Johnston, then editor of Strength and Health magazine, and his team organised the Mr. Universe contest in London to coincide with the Olympic Games. Mister Universo
''Mister Universo'' is a 2016 Austrian-Italian drama film directed by Tizza Covi and Rainer Frimmel. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. It was also screened at the 2016 Locarno Festival and the 2016 Vienna International Film Festival where it won an award. The film shows the everyday life of the slowly disappearing world of the circus with a cast of amateur actors. The winner of the 1957 Mr Universe competition, Arthur Robin, played himself in the film, as did a number of other members of the cast. Plot Tairo, a young circus liontamer, loses a lucky horseshoe charm that had been bent out of iron by strongman Arthur Robin, a former winner of the Mr. Universe competition. The horseshoe was given to Tairo when he was a child. Mickey Hargitay
Mickey Hargitay (January 6, 1926 – September 14, 2006), born Miklós Karoly Hargitay, was a Hungarian-American actor and the 1955 Mr. Universe. Born in Budapest, Hargitay moved to the United States in 1947 and eventually became a U.S. citizen. He was married to actress Jayne Mansfield and is the father of actress Mariska Hargitay. During their marriage, Hargitay and Mansfield made four movies together: ''Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?'' (1957), ''The Loves of Hercules'' (1960), ''Promises! Promises!''
