Mr. Reliable
''Mr. Reliable'' is a 1996 film directed by Nadia Tass. It stars Colin Friels and Jacqueline McKenzie. Plot It tells the true story of Wally Mellish, an ex-convict in 1960s Australia. Just released from prison, all he wants to do is live a quiet life with his girlfriend Beryl. A misunderstanding, quickly gets out of control, when two police officers pay him a visit, resulting in Wally, Beryl and her child being trapped in their house. Surrounded by armed police, the community is under the impression that Wally is holding everyone hostage. Events quickly spiral into a media circus as, through the siege, Wally - inadvertently - manages to become a symbol for the anti-war movement. Hal And Jim McElroy
Hal and James "Jim" McElroy (born 6 April 1946) are Australian twin film and television producers. They are best known for three films they produced jointly in the 1970s, all directed by Peter Weir at the start of his career: ''The Cars That Ate Paris'' (1974), '' Picnic at Hanging Rock'' (1975), and ''The Last Wave'' (1977). They were also joint associate producers of ''Let the Balloon Go'' (1976). The McElroy brothers also worked on projects separately before, during and after these joint projects. Frank Gallacher
Frank Gallacher (7 April 1943 – 23 February 2009) was a Scottish-Australian actor. Gallacher was born in Glasgow in 1943. In 1962, aged 19, he was working in London when his parents and younger sister decided to emigrate to Australia. Gallacher declined to join them, preferring to remain in London, but emigrated to Brisbane a year later where he worked as a schoolteacher. He spent three years in Papua New Guinea teaching English. On his return to Brisbane, he joined an amateur theatre company, which eventually gained him admission to the Queensland Theatre Company. In 1977, Gallacher was in Melbourne, performing in David Williamson's play '' The Club'', and he remained with the Melbourne Theatre Company from then on.
