Frank McDonald (director)
Frank Burgess McDonald (November 9, 1899 – March 8, 1980) was an American film and television director, active from 1935 to 1966. He directed more than 100 films, including many Westerns starring Gene Autry and Roy Rogers, and numerous TV show episodes. He is interred at Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, California. McDonald was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Samuel and Florence McDonald. His father was an employee of Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Participation in amateur theatrical productions sparked an interest in performing, causing him to leave Baltimore City College to pursue a career in entertainment. McDonald's professional performing debut came in a vaudeville act in which he played a burglar. He also acted on Broadway, in ''Puppets'' (1925), ''The K Guy'' (1928), ''Just to Remind You'' (1931), and ''Bulls, Bears and Asses'' (1932). Lloyd Corrigan
Lloyd Corrigan (October 16, 1900 – November 5, 1969) was an American film and television actor, producer, screenwriter, and director who began working in films in the 1920s. The son of actress Lillian Elliott, Corrigan directed films, usually mysteries such as '' Daughter of the Dragon'' starring Anna May Wong (one of a trilogy of Fu Manchu movies for which he has writing credits), before dedicating himself more to acting in 1938. His short '' La Cucaracha'' won an Academy Award in 1935. James Millican
James Millican (February 17, 1911 – November 24, 1955) was an American actor with over 200 film appearances mostly in western movies. Millican was the son of Fred S. Millican, a circus owner, and Dorothy Millican. Millican was a close associate of cowboy star "Wild" Bill Elliott, staging a number of personal-appearance rodeos on Elliott's behalf. Millican was sent to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's dramatic school directly after graduating from University of Southern California. Ian MacDonald (born Ulva Pippy, June 28, 1914 – April 11, 1978) was an American actor and producer during the 1940s and 1950s. He is perhaps best known as villain Frank Miller in '' High Noon'' (1952). Early years MacDonald was the son of Rev. William Pippy and Sarah MacDonald Pippy. He attended schools in Helena, Montana, and developed an interest in acting while he was a student at Helena High School. He continued acting at Intermountain College in Helena, from which he graduated in 1934. He taught school for two years in Marysville before he moved to Hollywood, after which he washed dishes at a YMCA and studied drama at the Pasadena Community Playhouse. Military service MacDonald served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. He entered on July 13, 1942, and was discharged on April 15, 1946, reaching the rank of captain. Frank Jenks (November 4, 1902 – May 13, 1962) was an acid-voiced American supporting actor of stage and films. Biography Early years Jenks was born in Des Moines, Iowa, and his mother gave him a trombone when he was 9 years old. By his late teens he was playing with Eddie Peabody and his band. Later, he became a studio musician in Hollywood, California. Movie career Jenks began in vaudeville and went on to a long career in movies and television, mostly in comedy. He was one of the more familiar faces and voices of the Hollywood Studio era. For almost ten years beginning in the early 1920s, Jenks was a song and dance man in vaudeville. Nestor Paiva (June 30, 1905 – September 9, 1966) was an American actor of Portuguese descent. He is most famous for his recurring role of Teo Gonzales the innkeeper in Walt Disney's Spanish Western series ''Zorro'' and its feature film ''The Sign of Zorro'', as well as Lucas the boat captain in ''Creature from the Black Lagoon'' and its sequel ''Revenge of the Creature''. Early years Paiva attended the University of California. During his senior year, he directed a production, ''The Youngest'', after the previous director resigned because of sickness.
