"Mr. Lonely" is a song performed by the American country music band Midland. It is the lead single to their second studio album '' Let It Roll''. The band wrote the song with Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally. Content and history Band members Mark Wystrach, Jess Carson, and Cameron Duddy wrote the song with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne, both of whom co-produced the recording with Dann Huff. Midland's road band guitarist Luke Cutchen plays lead guitar, and session musician Paul Franklin contributes on pedal steel guitar. Marissa R. Midland is an American country music group formed in 2014 in Dripping Springs, Texas. The band members are Mark Wystrach (lead vocals, guitar), Jess Carson (guitar, vocals), and Cameron Duddy (bass guitar, vocals). Through Big Machine Records, the band has released two EPs, their self-titled EP and The Last Resort. They have released three studio albums, ''On the Rocks'' and '' Let It Roll'', which have accounted for five charted singles on the '' Billboard'' country chart: "Drinkin' Problem", " Make a Little", " Burn Out", " Mr. Lonely", and " Cheatin' Songs". Edward Thomas Rabbitt (November 27, 1941 – May 7, 1998) was an American country music singer and songwriter. His career began as a songwriter in the late 1960s, springboarding to a recording career after composing hits such as "Kentucky Rain" for Elvis Presley in 1970 and " Pure Love" for Ronnie Milsap in 1974.
