Mr. Hong Kong
The Mr. Hong Kong Contest (), or Mr.HK (港生) for short, is a beauty contest for young men, organized by leading Hong Kong television station TVB. The contest since 2005, suspended during 2012 to 2015, and 2017. Winners will have the opportunity to represent Hong Kong for the Mister World contest. Like the Miss Hong Kong Pageant, top Mr. Hong Kong contestants are awarded to a contract with TVB, and many of them become promoted television actors. A contestant and runner-up in 2005, Byron Pang, even went on to become a film star. In his first film role, in the 2009 Hong Kong movie Amphetamine, his pubic hair, penis and testicles were fully exposed on camera, in several scenes. The contest also has other consolation prizes that vary slightly from year to year. Unlike their female counterpart, Mr. Hong Kong does not have specific first and second runner-up positions. Beauty Contest
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Kathy Chow Hoi-mei (; born 6 December 1966 in Hong Kong) is a Hong Kong actress and singer who is widely known for her leading roles in Hong Kong TVB series during the late 1980s to 1990s such as ''The Breaking Point'' and ''Time Before Time''. Her popularity peaked in Asia following her portrayal of Zhou Zhiruo in the 1994 Taiwanese adaptation of ''The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber''. Karl Ting Tze Long (born 30 June 1997) is a Hong Kong actor and television presenter. Ting joined TVB after winning first-runner up, Mr. Photogenic, and Most Liked by Audience awards at the Mr. Hong Kong 2016 contest. He was the first Mr. Photogenic, and the youngest contestant to win the most awards in the contest's history. William Chak
William Chak (; born 29 March 1985) is a Hong Kong actor and presenter who achieved fame through TVB's 2010 Mr. Hong Kong contest. He formerly performed under the stage name Chak Fung (). When Chak was eighteen, he traveled to Tokyo, Japan, as an exchange student and performed as a comedic dancer in the streets to earn tuition money. After winning the 1st runner up at Hong Kong ATV's 2005 Mr. Asia Contest, he returned to Japan to finish his schooling. In 2006, he signed an artiste contract with ATV. In 2008, Chak graduated from N-atv's Artiste Training Class. After his contracted with ATV ended in 2009, Chak stayed in South Korea for a year, and earned a black belt in Taekwondo.
