Moving On Up (M People Song)
"Moving On Up" is the seventh overall single from British band M People, and the second single from their second album, ''Elegant Slumming'' (1993). Written by band members Mike Pickering and Paul Heard, and produced by M People, it was released on 13 September 1993. The song peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and number one on the UK Dance Singles Chart and was the biggest selling M People single. It also became a top-40 hit on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and number one on the ''Billboard'' Dance Club Songs chart. The accompanying music video sees the band performing in a club. Artwork On United Kingdom and European versions of the single, the cover appeared with two thirds of the cover featuring a side profile of lead singer Heather Small, looking serious to hint that she's moving away. ''Dixie-Narco'' is an extended play (EP) by Scottish rock band Primal Scream, released on 27 January 1992 through Creation Records. Its lead track is "Movin' on Up", originally released on the '' Screamadelica'' album. This was the only official Primal Scream release to contain the song "Screamadelica" (which was recorded during sessions for the ''Screamadelica'' albumTom Pinnock (2019), 'The Making Of... Dixie-Narco EP by Primal Scream', ''Uncut'', issue 265, June 2019, p. 88.) until the song appeared on the 20th anniversary edition of the ''Screamadelica'' album. The remaining two tracks were recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis during November 1991. Azealia Amanda Banks ( ; born May 31, 1991) is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. Raised in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, she began releasing music through Myspace in 2008 before being signed to XL Recordings at age 18.
