Mouvement Pour Un Cyclisme Crédible
Mouvement pour un Cyclisme Crédible or Movement For Credible Cycling (MPCC) is a union created on July 24, 2007 by seven sponsored teams of professional road cyclists : AG2R Prévoyance, Agritubel, Bouygues Télécom, Cofidis, Crédit Agricole, Française des Jeux and Gerolsteiner. The MPCC was created to defend the idea of a clean cycling, in particular according to the strict code of ethics established by UCI. The president of the organisation is former cyclist and team manager Roger Legeay Roger Legeay (born 8 August 1949, Beaufay) is a French former professional racing cyclist and cycling team manager. The Union Européenne de Cyclisme (''abbreviation'': UEC, ''English'': European Cycling Union) is the European confederation of national cycling bodies; the national federations of the Union Cycliste Internationale form confederations by continent. In February 2009, David Lappartient was elected for a four-year term as president. History The ''Union Vélocipédique Française'' (UVF) was the predecessor of the FFC. It was founded on 6 February 1881 in Paris at the ''Café Le Marengo'' by delegates of ten cycling clubs, who on the same day decided to create a national championship race of 10 km.
