Mouth Of The Tyne Festival
Starting back in 2005, the Mouth of the Tyne Festival takes place every July for a weekend of live music and international street theatre in the village of Tynemouth. The festival used to take place on both sides of the Tyne but has made Tynemouth its home for many years now. It consists of spectacular outdoor music concerts at Tynemouth Priory and Castle, cultural performances and a pageant. Activities also take place at Tynemouth Station and the Playhouse Whitley Bay. Organised by North Tyneside Council, the 2019 festival was a sell-out featuring Sam Fender, Jack Savoretti, Rick Astley and the Proclaimers, though would be the last festival to go ahead for two years due to Covid. The 2022 festival was scheduled for 8 to 10 July 2022 at Tynemouth Priory and Castle, with headliners including Keane, Lighthouse Family, Sophie Ellis-Bextor announced for the main three-day event and John Cale at the Playhouse on Monday 18 July. Tynemouth Front Street1
Tynemouth () is a coastal town in the metropolitan borough of North Tyneside, North East England. It is located on the north side of the mouth of the River Tyne, hence its name. It is 8 mi (13 km) east-northeast of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is also home to Tynemouth Priory. Historically part of Northumberland until 1974, the town was a county borough which included the nearby town of North Shields. In 2001, the population of the town was recorded at 17,056. History The headland towering over the mouth of the River Tyne has been settled since the Iron Age. Little Comets
Little Comets are an English indie rock trio from Jarrow and Washington, Tyne and Wear. They are described as playing "kitchen sink indie" music. In early 2009 the band were signed to Columbia Records following numerous gigs in strange locations such as lecture theatres and various modes of public transport and support from DJ Huw Stephens. After departing their major record label they released their début album, ''In Search of Elusive Little Comets'', on 31 January 2011. Samuel Thomas Fender (born 25 April 1994) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. He is known for his high tenor voice and thick Geordie accent, layered over music characterised by a roots-orientated rock approach. Fender's sound relies primarily on his traditional American musical upbringing combined with a classic British rock sensibility. Collabro were a UK-based musical theatre group and winners of the eighth series of ''Britain's Got Talent'' in 2014. The group consisted of Michael Auger, Jamie Lambert, Matthew Pagan and Thomas J.
