Mountain Lake House
Mountain Lake House (MLH) was a former resort situated in Smithfield Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania, at the junction of U.S. Route 209 and Pennsylvania Route 402 in Marshalls Creek, Pennsylvania. The location is situated approximately five miles (8.0 km) northeast of Stroudsburg. An Environmental Impact Study conducted in 1999 assessed the potential impact of a proposed road and described the Mountain Lake House as an estate spanning about 80.8 acres (32.7 ha), including approximately 18 outbuildings such as a musician's cabin, recreational hall, guest house, workshop, and others. History "In 1746, the first action was taken for the formation of Smithfield Township, the first municipal division north of the Blue Mountains. Pennsylvania Route 402
Pennsylvania Route 402 (PA 402) is a north–south state route in the Pennsylvania counties of Pike and Monroe. The southern terminus of the route is at U.S. Route 209 Business (US 209 Bus.) in the Smithfield Township village of Marshalls Creek. The northern terminus is at US 6 in Palmyra Township. PA 402 was designated in 1928 between US 611 north of Delaware Water Gap and US 6 in Palmyra Township. The route at the southern terminus became PA 612 in the 1930s before PA 402 was extended south to US 611 (now PA 611 in Delaware Water Gap in the 1940s, replacing a portion of PA 612. PA 402 was realigned to end at an interchange with Interstate 80 (I-80) and US 611 in Delaware Water Gap by 1961.
