Mountain Home High School Career Academies is a public secondary school in Mountain Home, Arkansas, United States. It is one of three high schools located in Baxter County and is the sole high school administered by the Mountain Home School District. Mountain Home High School has received charter school status, granted by the State Board of the Arkansas Department of Education. Mountain Home High School is divided into three career academies: Communications, Arts, and Business (CAB), Architecture, Construction, Manufacturing, and Engineering (ACME) and Health and Human Services (HHS). Mountain Home, Arkansas
Mountain Home is a city in, and the county seat of, Baxter County, Arkansas, United States, in the southern Ozark Mountains near the northern state border with Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 12,448. A total of 41,307 persons lived within the city and micropolitan area combined, which encompasses the majority of Baxter County. History Founding and early days Mountain Home was originally known as Rapp's Barren. The land was owned by Simeon "Rapp" Talburt, who built the first home in the area in the early 1830s. Rapp and many of his family members are buried in a small cemetery in the Indian Creek subdivision of Mountain Home. The original cabin was found in 1990 and is on display in Cooper Park in Mountain Home with other homes of historic value. The name of the town was changed to Mountain Home in 1856. Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is an annual parade in New York City presented by the U.S.-based department store chain Macy's. The Parade first took place in 1924, tying it for the second-oldest Thanksgiving parade in the United States with America's Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit (with both parades being four years younger than Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day Parade). Shawn Womack
Shawn Womack (born August 13, 1972) is an American lawyer and judge serving as an associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court. He is formerly a circuit court judge for the 14th Judicial District of Arkansas. Earlier, Womack served from 2001 to 2009 as a state senator for District 1, which includes his own Baxter County. Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into new materials and objects. The recovery of energy from waste materials is often included in this concept.
