Mt. Pleasant High School is a public high school located in the Alum Rock district of San Jose, California. It is a part of the East Side Union High School District Steve Poizner After selling his high-tech businesses, Steve Poizner worked at the school as a volunteer teacher, writing about it in ''Mount Pleasant: My Journey from Creating a Billion-Dollar Company to Teaching at a Struggling Public High School'', a book released in April 2010. Poizner invoked hyperbole while describing the school, including exaggerating crime and graduation rates at the school and in the neighborhood. Ira Glass and ''This American Life'' exposed the differences between Poizner's account and the true story of the school, with Glass calling the story "obviously and provably untrue." Mt. Invader Zim
''Invader Zim'' is an American animated science fiction dark comedy television series created by comic book writer and cartoonist Jhonen Vasquez for Nickelodeon. The series centers on an extraterrestrial named Zim (voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz), from the planet Irk, and his mission to conquer Earth and enslave the human race along with his malfunctioning robot servant GIR (Rosearik Rikki Simons). Jhonen C. Vasquez (; born September 1, 1974) is an American cartoonist, animator, screenwriter, music video director, and voice actor. He is best known for creating the comic book ''Johnny the Homicidal Maniac''—along with its spin-off comics ''Squee!'', ''Fillerbunny'', and ''I Feel Sick''—and the Nickelodeon animated series ''Invader Zim''. Jeneba Sylvia Tarmoh (born September 27, 1989) is an American Athletics (sport), track and field sprinter who specializes in the 100 metres and 200 metres. She is of Sierra Leonean descent. Prep Tarmoh lives in San Jose, California, where she attended Mt. Pleasant High School (San Jose, California), Mt. Pleasant High School. Her parents, both nurses, immigrated to San Jose from Sierra Leone shortly before she was born. While at Mt. Pleasant, she won both the 100 meters and 200 meters at the CIF California State Meet both her 2006 junior and 2007 senior years.
