Mouad Moutaoukil
Mouad Moutaoukil (born 1997) is a Moroccan French-language writer. Biography Mouad was born in the Moroccan city of Fez on February 17, 1997. His passion for literature appeared at an early age, he began writing short stories and poems since the age of twelve. He published his first book, ''Nouvelles et Acrostiches'', in 2012, and his second book ''Poésies d'un Ado'', in 2013. The young writer won several literary competitions, including: ''Poésie en Liberté'' in 2012, ''La Bataille des dix mots'' in 2014, and the ''Kalahari Short Story competition'' in 2021. Moreover, he participated in the 56th International Mathematical Olympiad that was held in Chiang Mai in July 2015 as a member of the Moroccan national team. Fez, Morocco
Fez or Fes (; ar, فاس, fās; zgh, ⴼⵉⵣⴰⵣ, fizaz; french: Fès) is a city in northern inland Morocco and the capital of the Fès-Meknès administrative region. It is the second largest city in Morocco, with a population of 1.11 million according to the 2014 census. Located to the north west of the Atlas Mountains, Fez is linked to several important cities of different regions; it is from Tangier to the northwest, from Casablanca, from Rabat to the west, and from Marrakesh to the southwest. It is surrounded by hills and the old city is centered around the Fez River (''Oued Fes'') flowing from west to east. Fez was founded under Idrisid rule during the 8th-9th centuries CE. The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is a mathematical olympiad for pre-university students, and is the oldest of the International Science Olympiads. The first IMO was held in Romania in 1959. It has since been held annually, except in 1980. More than 100 countries, representing over 90% of the world's population, send teams of up to six students, plus one team leader, one deputy leader, and observers. The content ranges from extremely difficult algebra and pre-calculus problems to problems on branches of mathematics not conventionally covered in secondary or high school and often not at university level either, such as projective and complex geometry, functional equations, combinatorics, and well-grounded number theory, of which extensive knowledge of theorems is required. The 2017 Jeux de la Francophonie, also known as ''VIIIèmes Jeux de la Francophonie'' (French for ''8th Francophone Games''), informally known as Abidjan 2017, took place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, from July 21–30. The Jeux de la Francophonie (Canadian English: ''Francophonie Games''; British English: ''Francophone Games'') are a combination of artistic and sporting events for the Francophonie, mostly French-speaking nations and former colonies of France, held every four years since 1989.
