"Mother's Little Helper" is the sixteenth episode of the sixth season of the American fantasy drama series ''Once Upon a Time'', which aired on April 9, 2017. In this episode, Gideon's past with the Black Fairy and his vengeance towards his grandmother is revealed, as Gideon blackmails Emma into defeating the Black Fairy in order to return Hook back to Storybrooke. The sixth season of the American ABC fantasy-drama series ''Once Upon a Time'' was ordered on March 3, 2016. It debuted on September 25, 2016, and concluded on May 14, 2017. In January 2017, it was stated that the sixth season would end the main storyline, and for a seventh season, the series would be softly rebooted with a new storyline. A changeling, also historically referred to as an auf or oaf, is a human-like creature found in folklore throughout Europe.
