''Moss Avis'' is a local newspaper in Moss, Norway. Having a rivalry with ''Moss Dagblad'', it is published six days a week. The chief editor is Pål Enghaug. It was established in 1876, and became affiliated with the Liberal Party. It later shifted to the right before becoming non-partisan. It was originally published three times a week, but this was expanded to six times in 1931. It changed to tabloid format in 1989, and launched its Internet site in 1999. Between 1998 and 2008 it was published seven times a week. In addition to Moss, the newspaper covers Rygge, Råde, Våler, Son and Hobøl. It has a circulation of 14,979, of whom 14,703 are subscribers. Son, Norway
Son is an old town, and a former municipality. It is located in Vestby municipality in Akershus. Overview Son is located at the Oslofjord, 50 kilometres south of the Norwegian capital Oslo, just north of Moss and near the border of Østfold, and is located west of the village of Hølen. Before the merge with Vestby the number of inhabitants in Son was about 800–900 (1940). Today, Son, including Store Brevik has 5035 inhabitants (2006). Son, together with the village of Hølen, was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Son and Hølen were separated as municipalities of their own January 1, 1848. Hobøl
Hobøl was a municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Elvestad. Hobøl is situated about southeast of Oslo. The parish of ''Haabøl'' was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The largest village in Hobøl was Tomter, whose railway station is served by Eastern Østfold Line. Other villages in the municipality were Knapstad, Ringvoll, and the middle part of the municipality which is called Hobøl. Hobøl was suggested as the replacement site for a new airport to replace Fornebu, and in 1972 the Norwegian parliament voted to build it there. The 1973 oil crisis postponed that plan, and the new airport was finally built at Gardermoen, north of Oslo. Råde is a municipality in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Karlshus. Rygge was a municipality in Østfold county, Norway. It was merged into Moss municipality on January 1, 2020. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Rygge. Rygge was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The emblem of Rygge is the Pasque flower.
