Moskwa TV
Moskwa TV was a German electronic dance music band. Biography In the early 1980s, Andreas Tomalla (aka Talla 2XLC) began his career as a DJ in Frankfurt, and put on preferably Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode. Together with Ralf Henrich (aka RaHen), he founded the band Moskwa TV, with a very modern techno sound for the time. The ground-breaking debut album ''Dynamics & Discipline'' was mainly composed by Talla and RaHen, and produced by Kurt Ader and Axel Henninger / Naskrent in the Dynaton Studio. Vocalist Ion Javelin (Jan Veil) joined during the production of the debut album at the recommendation of label CBS to the band. At CBS, he had released his first single, "Dancing in Heaven", under the pseudonym Gary Chandler, with little commercial success. RaHen and Javelin together composed the song "Generator 7/8". The singles "Generator 7/8" and "Tekno Talk" were released and gained popularity in various clubs in the Frankfurt techno scene and then at larger venues. The release of the ... Camouflage (band)
Camouflage is a German synth-pop trio consisting of lead singer Marcus Meyn (b. May 2, 1966), Heiko Maile and Oliver Kreyssig. Their only Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 hit was "The Great Commandment (song), The Great Commandment", which reached No. 59 in early 1989, and spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Dance Club Songs chart. They also had two minor dance hits in 1989. History In 1983, Heiko Maile, Marcus Meyn, Oliver Kreyssig, and Martin Kähling, four friends from Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany, formed the band Licensed Technology. It was short lived, as Martin Kähling left in 1984. Soon after, the remaining three members renamed themselves "Camouflage", inspired by a Yellow Magic Orchestra song of the same name. Deborah Sasson
Deborah Sasson, whose real name is Deborah Ann O'Brien, is an American operatic soprano and musical theatre actress mostly active in Germany. Life and career Sasson was born in Boston. As a teenager she sang in a high school band. After high school she studied classical singing at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio and graduated with a "Master of Music". She had her first engagement at the Metropolitan Opera of New York. She made her debut on Broadway in ''Show Boat,'' whereupon in 1982 Leonard Bernstein cast her in the role of Maria in the Hamburg production of ''West Side Story''. Sasson was married to the opera singer Peter Hofmann from 1983 to 1990; her first husband was the conductor Michel Sasson. A duet version of '' Scarborough Fair'' with Hofmann can be found on her double platinum album ''Rock Classics'' (1982). Chandeen ( ) is a musical project from Frankfurt am Main, founded in 1990 and popular in the darkwave scene in the first half of the 1990s. X-Perience
X-Perience is a eurodance band from Berlin, Germany. Their music style varies between synthpop, trance and ethnopop. The band members are Claudia Uhle (vocals, lyrics), Matthias Uhle (composition, keyboards) and Alexander Kaiser (lyrics, keyboards). Singer Claudia Uhle, Matthias' sister, left the band in 2007 and was replaced by Manja Kaletka, but returned in 2019. History X-Perience was founded in 1995. Their first single CD was called "Circles of Love", released on their own label. Axel Henninger, who had worked with Camouflage before, produced the track. "Circles of Love" became a regional hit in Berlin, mainly through the radio station Fritz. This caught the attention of the major record label WEA, who offered the band a contract. De/Vision
De/Vision is a German synthpop musical group formed in 1988. The band started as a quartet consisting of Thomas Adam, Steffen Keth, Stefan Blender, and Markus Ganssert. Blender left the band in 1991 and Ganssert departed in 2000. The name De/Vision is a play on words. The majority of the band's lyrics are in English, but they have had some songs in German. In 2000, Keth started a side project as the vocalist with Green Court, called 'Green Court featuring De/Vision'. The band with remaining members Keth and Adam were then signed to Drakkar Records and Sony BMG in Europe, and Dancing Ferret Discs in North America. The band is currently signed to Metropolis Records in North America. Since 1994 the band has released a new studio album of original material roughly every 1.5 years, until their 2012 album ''Rockets and Swords''.
