Moses Mayfield was a five-piece rock band from Birmingham, Alabama. Their major-label debut album, ''The Inside'' was released in March 2007 under Columbia Records and Sony BMG. Matthew Mayfield is an American singer and songwriter from Birmingham, Alabama. Originally the lead singer in the group Moses Mayfield, which disbanded in 2008, Mayfield has moved on to a solo career. He announced the release of his debut EP, titled ''The Fire EP'' on August 25, 2008. Not long after the band broke up, lead singer Matthew Mayfield started playing shows centered on the Birmingham, Alabama area, usually solo acoustic but occasionally with a new backing band. Will Hoge (born November 14, 1972) is an American Americana country music singer, songwriter, and musician from Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Early life Will Hoge was born and grew up in Franklin, Tennessee, located just south of Nashville. His sound was influenced by his musician father and uncles and the extensive record collection that his father kept. Hoge attended Western Kentucky University to study history, planning to become a high school history teacher and basketball coach.
