Moscow Music Hall
Moscow music hall (russian: link=no, Московский мюзик-холл) is a theater and state cultural institution of Moscow, Russia. History The first concert of Moscow music hall took place on the stage of Aquarium Theater in 1923. The initial name of it was "Circus Music Hall". At that time Moscow music hall was controlled by the Central Department of State Circuses, which was the main reason of huge number of circus acts in the initial programs of the theater. Even though foreign colleagues working in such format were incredibly popular (in London and Paris), the soviet people couldn't get used to it. The first show programs of Moscow music hall consisted mainly from so-called "special" performances (special acts), which had almost no art. Cabaret
Cabaret is a form of theatrical entertainment featuring music, song, dance, recitation, or drama. The performance venue might be a pub, a casino, a hotel, a restaurant, or a nightclub with a stage for performances. The audience, often dining or drinking, does not typically dance but usually sits at tables. Performances are usually introduced by a master of ceremonies or MC. Matvey Blanter
Matvey Isaakovich Blanter (russian: Матве́й Исаа́кович Бла́нтер) (27 September 1990) was a Soviet composer, and one of the most prominent composers of popular songs and film music in the Soviet Union. Among many other works, he wrote the famous " Katyusha" (1938), performed to this day internationally. He was active as a composer until 1975, producing more than two thousand songs. Childhood and education Blanter, the son of a Jewish craftsman, was born in the town of Pochep, then in the Chernigov Governorate of the Russian Empire. He studied piano and violin at the Kursk Higher Music School. From 1917 to 1919, he continued his education in Moscow, studying violin and composition. Music hall is a type of British theatrical entertainment that was popular from the early Victorian era, beginning around 1850. It faded away after 1918 as the halls rebranded their entertainment as variety. Perceptions of a distinction in Britain between bold and scandalous ''Music Hall'' and subsequent, more respectable ''Variety'' differ. Music hall involved a mixture of popular songs, comedy, speciality acts, and variety entertainment. The term is derived from a type of theatre or venue in which such entertainment took place. Mosconcert is the oldest cultural organization in Moscow. Its full name is "Mosconcert, state budgetary institution of culture of Moscow" (ГБУК города Москвы «Москонцерт») History At 25 January 1931, in Soviet Union, the National Association of Musical, Variety, and Circus Enterprises was formed. Mosconcert is the successor of it. ''Dancing with the Stars'' is the name of various international television series based on the format of the British TV series '' Strictly Come Dancing'', which is distributed by BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC. Igor Alexandrovich Moiseyev (russian: Игорь Александрович Моисеев; – 2 November 2007) was a Soviet choreographer. Moiseyev was widely acclaimed as the greatest 20th-century choreographer of character dance, a dance style similar to folk dance but with more professionalism and theatrics. Life and career Born in Kiev, Russian Empire, he was the only child of a Russian lawyer and a French-Romanian seamstress. His family lived in Paris until he was 8, and throughout his life he spoke to Western journalists in fluent French. Dmitry Yurievich Malikov (russian: Дмитрий Юрьевич Маликов; born 29 January 1970) is a Russian actor, composer, singer and a recent record producer. Early life Dmitry Malikov, who goes by his nickname Dima (Дима), was born in Moscow, Soviet Union. His mother, Lyudmila Mikhailovna Vyunkova, was a dancer, and his father, Yuriy Fedorovich Malikov (Юрий Федорович Маликов), was part of a band called Samotsvety (Самоцветы). Aleksandr Nikolaevich Malinin (russian: Александр Николаевич Малинин, born Vyguzov, russian: Выгузов; 16 November 1958) is a Russian singer who was named a People's Artist of Russia in 1997. Career Malinin was born in Yekaterinburg (then Sverdlovsk) as Aleksandr Nikolaevich Vyguzov. At the end of the 1980s, he toured the United States and made a duet with David Pomeranz, becoming the first Soviet singer to collaborate with an American musician since the breakout of the Cold War. Kasyan Yaroslavich Goleizovsky (5 March 1892 – 4 May 1970) was a Russian choreographer and dancer. He was a pioneer in the Moscow avant-garde ballet scene in the 1920s.
