The Moscow Country Club is a golf club in Russia. Golf The idea of building a championship golf course in Russia, dates back to the early 1970s when leaders of the Russian Government invited American executive Armand Hammer to Russia to find out what Russia needed to entice Western business. Hammer answered "limousines and a golf course". In 1988 construction began on what, six years later, was Russia's first 18-hole golf course. The club has an 18-hole, 7,015 yard championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The European PGA endorsed the club. Since its opening in 1993, the Moscow Country Club has become the permanent venue for a number of major golf competitions, including the Russian Open, the country's first professional golf tournament. Nakhabino (russian: Нахабино) is an types of inhabited localities in Russia, urban locality (a urban-type settlement, work settlement) in Krasnogorsky District, Moscow Oblast, Krasnogorsky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia. Robert Trent Jones, Jr
Robert Trent "Bobby" Jones Jr. (born July 24, 1939) is an American golf course architect. He is the son of golf course designer Robert Trent Jones and the brother of golf course designer Rees Jones. Background Jones was born in Montclair, New Jersey and graduated from Montclair High School in 1957. After attending Yale and graduate studies at Stanford University, he joined his father's firm, Robert Trent Jones Incorporated. He rose to become vice-president of the company and assumed control of west coast operations in 1962. In the 1960s, he began designing courses on his own and formed his own company in the early 1970s in Palo Alto, California. Armand Hammer (May 21, 1898 – December 10, 1990) was an American business manager and owner, most closely associated with Occidental Petroleum, a company he ran from 1957 until his death.
