Mort Glickman (December 6, 1898 – February 27, 1953) was an American composer of film scores. He spent most of his career writing scores (often uncredited) for Republic Pictures, where he contributed to more than 175 films. ''Along the Navajo Trail'' is a 1945 American Western film directed by Frank McDonald and starring Roy Rogers, Gabby Hayes and Dale Evans. The film's story was based on a William Colt MacDonald novel. The film marked the debut of the Cuban actress Estelita Rodriguez, who Republic Pictures then began to build up into a star. Its title song is '' Along the Navajo Trail'', an instrumental version of which appears with the opening credits, with a brief vocal version during the last twenty seconds of the film. The first few bars of the song are used as background music in several chase scenes. The film was part of the long-running series of Roy Rogers films produced by the studio.Hurst, p. 232. ''Rose of Cimarron'' is a 1952 American Western film produced by Edward L. Alperson for 20th Century Fox. Despite the title, it has nothing to do with Rose Dunn the actual "Rose of Cimarron". The film is a revenge Western with a twist: the protagonist is a woman raised by the Cherokee avenging her parents who were murdered by whites. Plot When a covered wagon heading for California is attacked by Comanche, the only survivor is a baby girl. ''The Longhorn'' is a 1951 American Western film directed by Lewis D. Collins and starring Wild Bill Elliott, Myron Healey, and Phyllis Coates. It was shot at the Iverson Ranch. It was remade as the 1956 film '' Canyon River''. Plot The movie opens as Wyoming rancher Jim Kirk flees three bandits intent on robbing the money he earned by selling his Texas Longhorn herd. Back at his ranch, Kirk explains to his cowhand Andy that he is carrying a cashier's check made out to him, because he feared being robbed.
