Morris Commercial JE
The JE is a light commercial all-electric vehicle from the British-based Morris Commercial company. The retro-styled van is based on the 1949 Morris Commercial J-type and was first announced in 2017. The JE was formally unveiled on 13 November 2019, with production announced to commence in 2021 with an expected price of around £60,000. Specifications The JE is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor and a 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The battery has 60kWh rapid charging capability and is claimed to have a range of around 200 miles. The JE has a payload of 1000kg and a 2.5-tonne gross weight. Morris Commercial Cars Limited was a British manufacturer of commercial vehicles formed by William Morris, 1st Viscount Nuffield, William Morris, founder of Morris Motors, Morris Motors Limited, to continue the business of E G Wrigley and Company which he purchased as of 1 January 1924. The marque was re-launched in 2017 when a proposal for all-new electric J-Type was announced, which was unveiled in November 2019. History Morris bought the assets of Soho, West Midlands, Soho, Birmingham axle manufacturer EG Wrigley and Company, E.G. Wrigley and Company after it was placed in liquidation late in 1923. A lithium-ion or Li-ion battery is a type of rechargeable battery which uses the reversible reduction of lithium ions to store energy. Morris Commercial J-type
The Morris Commercial J-type is a 10 cwt (0.5 ton) van launched by Morris Commercial in 1949 and produced until 1961. After the formation of the British Motor Corporation in 1952, by the merger of Morris' parent company, the Nuffield Organization, and Austin, the Commercial name was dropped and the van was marketed as the Morris J-type. The van followed the emerging trend of having forward controls and sliding doors on each side. It was made in both left and right hand drive versions. As well as complete vehicles, the J-type was also supplied in chassis form to external body makers and it appeared, amongst other uses, as a pick-up, tipper truck, ice cream van and milk float. Many were bought by the British Post Office and these differed from standard in having rubber front and rear wings. Worcestershire
Worcestershire ( , ; written abbreviation: Worcs) is a county in the West Midlands of England. The area that is now Worcestershire was absorbed into the unified Kingdom of England in 927, at which time it was constituted as a county (see History of Worcestershire).
