Morpheus is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Publication history Morpheus first appeared in '' Moon Knight'' #12 (Aug. 1981), and was created by Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz. The character subsequently appeared in ''Moon Knight'' #22-23 (August–September 1982), ''Moon Knight'' vol. 2 #3 (Sept. 1985), ''Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme'' #18 (June 1990), and ''Moon Knight: Resurrection War '' #2-4 (Feb.–April 1998). He had an unprecedented viral infection that caused competitive inhibition of certain segments in his DNA in the process of replication. ''Pinball FX 2'' (stylized as ''Pinball FX2'') is a pinball video game for Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows ( XP and higher) and is the sequel to '' Pinball FX''. It was developed by Zen Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released on October 27, 2010 via the Xbox Live Arcade service. Morpheus ('Fashioner', derived from the grc, μορφή meaning 'form, shape') is a god associated with sleep and dreams. In Ovid's ''Metamorphoses'' he is the son of Somnus and appears in dreams in human form. From the Middle Ages, the name began to stand more generally for the god of dreams, or of sleep. Ovid In Ovid's ''Metamorphoses'', Morpheus is one of the thousand sons of Somnus (Sleep). His name derives from the Greek word for form (μορφή), and his function was to appear in dreams in human guise. According to Ovid "no other is more skilled than he in representing the gait, the features, and the speech of men; the clothing also and the accustomed words of each he represents." Like other gods associated with sleep, Ovid makes Morpheus winged. Moon Knight is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, the character first appeared in ''Werewolf by Night'' #32 (August 1975). The son of a rabbi, Marc Spector served as a Force Recon Marine and briefly as a CIA operative before becoming a mercenary alongside his friend Jean-Paul "Frenchie" DuChamp. During a job in Sudan, Spector is appalled when ruthless fellow mercenary Raoul Bushman attacks and kills archeologist Dr. Alraune in front of the man's daughter and colleague, Marlene Alraune.
