Morocco Men's National Basketball Team
The Morocco national basketball team represents Morocco in international basketball competitions. The team is governed by the Moroccan Royal Basketball Federation, also known as the FRMBB. The team has appeared at the FIBA AfroBasket 20 times and has won the gold medal in the 1965 tournament. In 1968, Morocco finished as runners-up. The Moroccan Royal Basketball Federation ( ar, الجامعة الملكية المغربية لكرة السلة, (FRMBB) is the governing body of basketball in Morocco. that was Formed in 1956, based in the capital city Rabat. The FRMBB is a full member of the FIBA, International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and also it is one of the FIBA Africa member. The current president of the federation is Aourach Mostafa. AS Salé (basketball)
Association Sportive Salé ( ar, جمعية سلا), commonly known as AS Salé, is a Moroccan basketball club from Salé. The club competes in the Division Excellence and the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Notable players of the team include senior men's Moroccan national basketball team members Abderrahim Najah, Zakaria El Masbahi and Soufiane Kourdou. Salé has won the Moroccan championship 9 times and the Moroccan cup 11 times. The team won one continental title, the FIBA Africa Champions Cup which it won in 2017. FIBA AfroBasket 2017 was the 29th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was jointly hosted by Tunisia and Senegal. Angola was proposed by FIBA Africa to host the tournament, an offer declined as the country is holding general elections in the same period. Tunisia won their second title after defeating Nigeria 77–65 in the final, while Senegal caught the third place by beating Morocco 73–62. 2015 FIBA Africa Championship
AfroBasket 2015 was the 28th edition of the AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. It also served as the qualifying tournament for FIBA Africa at the 2016 Summer Olympics Basketball Tournament in Brazil. The tournament was held in Radès, Tunisia. The winner qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics Basketball Tournament. Nigeria won their first ever AfroBasket, beating Angola in the final 74–65. Chamberlain Oguchi was named tourney MVP. 2013 FIBA Africa Championship
AfroBasket 2013 was the 27th FIBA Africa Championship, played under the rules of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, and the FIBA Africa thereof. The tournament was hosted by Ivory Coast from August 20 to 31, all games were played at the Palais des Sports de Treichville, Abidjan. Angola defeated Egypt 57–40 in the final to win their eleventh title. Format The sixteen teams were split into four groups. Every team advanced to the knockout stage and participated at the Round of 16. The winners advanced to the quarterfinals to play out the champion.
