Aimee Sian Morgans is a British engineer who is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London. Her research considers thermoacoustic instabilities. She was elected Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2021. Early life and education Morgans studied engineering at the University of Cambridge, where she earned a master's of arts, a master's of engineering and a doctorate. Her doctoral research considered transonic helicopter noise. Research and career In 2007, Morgans joined the faculty at Imperial College London. Alf Morgans
Alfred Edward Morgans (17 February 1850 – 10 August 1933) was the fourth Premier of Western Australia, serving for just over a month, from 21 November to 23 December 1901. Born in Wales, Morgans trained as an engineer, and supervised mining operations in the United Kingdom, Mexico, and Central America. He came to Western Australia in 1896, during the gold rush, and developed the Mount Morgans Gold Mine. Morgans was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia in 1897, representing the seat of Coolgardie. He was appointed premier in late 1901, as a compromise candidate to replace George Leake, but his government was brought down after only 32 days. Leake returned as premier, and Morgans left parliament in 1904, at the end of his term. His career in politics lasted just over seven years, the shortest of any Premier of Western Australia, and only Hal Colebatch served as premier for a shorter period. Kenny Morgans
Kenneth Godfrey Morgans (16 March 1939 – 18 November 2012) was a Welsh footballer. Born in Swansea, he signed for Manchester United on leaving school in the summer of 1955 and played on the youth team's outside-right position. He turned professional in 1956 but continued to play for the youth team until the following year, and was captain of the FA Youth Cup winning team in 1957. Career He made his first team debut on 21 December 1957, aged 18, against Leicester City in a league match at Old Trafford, and was soon the club's first-choice outside-right, at the expense of the older and more experienced Johnny Berry. He was injured in the Munich air disaster on 6 February 1958, when still only 18 years old. He was the youngest player involved in the crash and the last survivor to be rescued from the mangled wreckage of the BEA Elizabethan airliner after he was found unconscious amongst the debris by two journalists five hours after the official search was called off. Morgan Morgans (October 23, 1806 – May 20, 1889) was a member of the Connecticut Senate representing the Connecticut's 12th Senate District, 12th District from 1863 to 1865 and a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives from 1862 to 1863. In 1852, he was the Whig Party (United States), Whig Party candidate for mayor of New York City. He was born in New York City in Little Fuzhou, East Broadway on October 23, 1806. He was a profitable metalsmith, brass founder and added to his income by real estate speculation. Morgans was the leader of the Whig Party in the Seventh Ward of New York. He was elected assistant alderman in 1849 and represented the ward as alderman from 1850 to 1851. Morgan Morgans (engineer)
Morgan Morgans (1814–1888) was a civil engineer particularly involved with mining. Morgans was born in Llanddeusant, Carmarthenshire in either 1814 or 1816. He worked in connection with Ebbw Vale Ironworks from about 1840. The 1851 Census of Wales shows him (wrongly recorded as Morgan Morgan) living in Black Vein Colliery with his wife and children then born, employed as "Coal Agent". By 1855 he had risen to colliery manager. In 1858 his employers either sent or encouraged him to West Somerset to manage the Brendon Hills Iron Ore Company, one of their suppliers, on the death of its Mines Captain, David Richard. Within a year Morgans also took over from William Roberts as engineer of the West Somerset Mineral Railway, which had been promoted by the Ebbw Vale company to bring iron ore from the mines in the Brendon Hills to Watchet harbour.
