Morgan Madden
Morgan Madden (8 April 1906 - January 1962) was an Irish hurler who played as a right corner-back for the Cork senior team. Born in Turners Cross, Cork, Madden first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-two when he first linked up with the Cork senior team. He made his senior debut during the 1928 championship. Madden immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won three All-Ireland medals, three Munster medals and one National Hurling League medal. At club level Madden played with Redmonds. Throughout his career Madden made 18 championship appearances. He retired from inter-county hurling following the conclusion of the 1932 championship. Playing career Inter-county Madden made his senior championship debut for Cork on a 15 July 1928 in a 2-2 apiece Munster final draw with the Clare. Redmonds GAA
Redmonds is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Cork in County Cork, Ireland. The club is situated in Tower Street, on the southside of the city. The club participates in Cork GAA competitions and in Seandún divisional board competitions. The club no longer fields hurling teams but continues to participate in the Seandun junior C football competitions. History Redmonds GAA have been in the Senior Hurling Championship Finals 10 times from their first finals appearance in 1892 to their last finals appearance in 1927. They won the title five times in 1892, 1900, 1901, 1915 and 1917. In the early years of the Gaelic Athletic Association clubs represented their county in the All-Ireland championships. Therefore, Redmonds were the Cork representatives on several occasions, and in 1892 were All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winners. Mick Ahern
Michael John "Gah" Ahern (22 May 1905 – 30 December 1946) was an Irish hurler who played as a full-forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Ballintemple, Cork, Ahern first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Crab Lane National School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he first linked up with the Cork junior team before later joining the senior side. He made his senior debut during the 1925 championship. Ahern immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won four All-Ireland medals, four Munster medals and two National Hurling League medals. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At international level Ahern played for the victorious Tailteann Games hurling team in 1932. As a member of the Munster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, he won two Railway Cup medals. At club level Ahern was a six-time championship medallist with Blackrock.
