Morgan Currie
Morgan Currie (born May 20, 1964 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island) is a Canadian curler from Ottawa, Ontario. In 1997, Currie won the Ontario Mixed Curling Championship throwing second on a team skipped by Jim Hunker. The team finished with a 2–9 record at the 1997 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. Currie joined the Bryan Cochrane senior men's team for the 2017–18 curling season at second. The team won the 2018 Ontario Senior Men's Curling Championship and represented Ontario at the 2018 Canadian Senior Curling Championships. The team went on to win the Canadian Seniors, qualifying the rink to represent Canada at the 2019 World Senior Curling Championships. The team went undefeated at Worlds, taking home the gold medal. The team won a second straight Ontario Senior title in 2019, and again represented Ontario at the 2019 Canadian Senior Curling Championships. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. Ian MacAulay
Ian MacAulay (born March 25, 1964 in Souris, Prince Edward Island) is a Canadian curler and ice technician from Ottawa, Ontario. He played second for team Ontario at the 2003 Nokia Brier. Earlier in his career, MacAulay won the 1993 Fairfield Marriott Challenge and the 1993 Dominion Regalia Silver Tankard. He would later join the Bryan Cochrane rink at second. The team won the 2003 Ontario Nokia Cup, the provincial men's championship. This earned the team the right to play in the 2003 Nokia Brier, where they finished with a 5–6 record. MacCaulay won the 2016 and 2018 Canadian Senior Curling Championships playing third for Cochrane and won a silver medal at the 2017 World Senior Curling Championships. The ''Journal Pioneer'' is a weekly newspaper published in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada. Two men named Bernard and Bertram founded the ''Summerside Journal'', a weekly newspaper, in 1865. Under the leadership of A.R. Brennan, the ''Journal'' began publishing daily on September 21, 1939, in order to provide regular news of World War II. After the war, the ''Journal'' cut down to twice-weekly publication, then tri-weekly in 1949 after it closed a sister paper, ''The P.E. Island Agriculturalist''. After a fire at the press plant in 1947, the ''Journal'' was printed at the presses of its rival paper, ''The Pioneer'', which had been founded in 1876 in Alberton, moving to Summerside in 1880. 2020 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2020 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from February 29 to March 8 at the Leon's Centre in Kingston, Ontario. The winning Brad Gushue rink was scheduled to represent Canada at the 2020 World Men's Curling Championship at the Commonwealth Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. The 2020 PEI Tankard, the provincial men's curling championship for Prince Edward Island, was held from January 8 to 12 at the Montague Curling Rink in Montague, Prince Edward Island. The winning Bryan Cochrane rink represented Prince Edward Island at the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier in Kingston, Ontario and finished with a 2–5 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2020 Prince Edward Island Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's championship.
