Morehouse is a city in New Madrid County, Missouri, United States. The population was 973 at the 2010 census. History Morehouse was established as a lumber camp in the 19th century. It was known as "Little River" from 1877 to 1887. When a post office was established in 1893, it was named "Morehouse" after Albert P. Morehouse, who served as the 26th Governor of Missouri from 1887 to 1889. Geography Morehouse is located at (36.845481, -89.691131). It lies along Missouri Route 114 west of Sikeston. U.S. Route 60 passes along the city's southern boundary. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of , all land. Morehouse is a town in Hamilton County, New York, United States. The population was 86 at the 2010 census. The name is that of an early developer, Andrew K. Morehouse. The town is in the Adirondack Park. It is in the southwestern corner of the county and is northeast of Utica. History Morehouse was formed from part of the town of Lake Pleasant in 1835. Morehouse ("Morehouseville") was created by land developer and entrepreneur Andrew King Morehouse (1805-1884); the post office there opened on April 9, 1834. (Morehouse owned of wilderness in Hamilton, Herkimer and Saratoga counties, but ultimately ended up dying in a poorhouse.) Part of the town was later taken and added to the town of Long Lake. An additional part of Morehouse was taken for Long Lake in 1861. In 1901, the town of Inlet was formed from the northern end of Morehouse. Morehouse Parish is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. As of the 2010 census, the population was 27,979. The parish seat is Bastrop. The parish was formed in 1844. Morehouse Parish comprises the Bastrop, LA Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Monroe– Ruston–Bastrop, LA Combined Statistical Area. History Francois Bonaventure built a house on 2000~acre tract in 1775 in Bastrop, Louisiana. Morehouse Parish is named after Colonel Abraham Morehouse, who served in the Revolutionary War. Throughout the first half of the twentieth century, Morehouse County was a stronghold of the Ku Klux Klan. More House
More House is the Catholic chaplaincy for the University of York in Heslington, York. The building itself dates from the late 18th century. The chaplains were formerly Carmelite friars resident in the building, but since 2021 priests from York Oratory have been ministering to the chaplaincy. It is located on Main Street in Heslington, which is towards the south edge of "Campus West". It is a Grade II listed building. History In the late 18th century, the house was constructed. From 1809 to 1814, Sydney Smith lived there while his rectory in Foston was being rebuilt. From 1869, the parish of St Paul's Church in Heslington had a vicar and the house later became a vicarage.
