Mordecai Marks Levy was a pharmacist, merchant, and newspaper editor who served as sheriff and as a state legislator in South Carolina. He was part of Camden, South Carolina Camden is the largest city and county seat of Kershaw County, South Carolina. The population was 7,764 in the 2020 census. He represented Kershaw in the state legislature from 1834 to 1838 and was a candidate for U.S. Congress in 1836. Camden is the largest city and county seat of Kershaw County, South Carolina. The population was 7,764 in the 2020 census. It is part of the Columbia, South Carolina, Metropolitan Statistical Area.
