Mor Bani Thanghat Kare
''Mor Bani Thanghat Kare'' ( gu, મોર બની થનગાટ કરે), originally titled ''Navi Varsha'' ( gu, નવી વર્ષા) is a 1944 Gujarati song translated by poet Jhaverchand Meghani which was published in his anthology ''Ravindra-Veena'' (1944). It was later composed by Hemu Gadhavi. The song is a loosely translated version of "Navavarsha" (lit. New Rain) by Rabindranath Tagore. Meghani had heard the song from Tagore himself in 1920 at his home in Calcutta. He wrote the Gujarati version in 1944 after the death of Tagore in 1941. It was translated in Gujarati in the traditional tone of Charans. It is sung by several other singers such as Chetan Gadhvi and Ashit Desai. Jhaverchand Meghani
Jhaverchand or Zaverchand Kalidas Meghani ( – ) was an Indian poet, writer, social reformer and freedom fighter. He is a well-known name in the field of Gujarati literature. He was born in Chotila where the Government College has been renamed for this literary figure as Raashtreeya Shaayar Zaverchand Meghani College, Chotila. Mahatma Gandhi spontaneously gave him the title of ''Raashtreeya Shaayar'' (National Poet). Besides this he received many awards like Ranjitram Suvarna Chandrak and ''Mahida Paaritoshik'' in literature. He authored more than 100 books. His first book was a translation work of Rabindranath Tagore's called ''Kathaa-u-Kaahinee'' titled ''Kurbani Ni Katha'' (Stories of martyrdom) which was first published in 1922. Hemu Gadhavi
Hemu Gadhavi, also spelled Hemu Gadhvi, (4 September 1929 – 20 August 1965) was a Gujarati singer, songwriter, composer, dramatist, and actor. He was an exponent of folk-music of Saurashtra. Early life and family : Hemu Gadhavi was born on 4 September 1929 in the village of Dhankania in Sayla taluka of Surendranagar district in Gujarat. His father's name was Nanbha Gadhavi and mother's name was Baluba Gadhavi. His wife's name was Hariba Gadhavi. His son Biharidan Gadhavi is also a singer. Gadhavi was fond of folk songs and hymns from his childhood. At the age of 14, he joined ''Shakti Prabhav Kalamandir'' with a salary of Rs. 15 per month. Ashit Desai ( gu, આશિત દેસાઈ; born 16 May 1951) is an Indian composer, vocalist, musician and music director. He composes scores for films, TV serials, dance productions and dramas. He is known as Gujarati Sugam Sangeet artist. Early life Ashit was born in 1951 to Kunjbihari and Mayuriben Desai in Baroda, Bombay State (now Vadodara, Gujarat). Initially he learned music from his parents. He graduated in Commerce and took a Diploma in vocal music from M. S. University of Baroda and migrated to Mumbai for career opportunities.
