''Moovendhar'' () is a 1998 Tamil language comedy film directed by Suraj (credited as C. G. Suraaj). The film stars Sarath Kumar and Devayani. The film, produced by N. Vishnuram, had musical score by Sirpy and was released on 12 January 1998 to positive reviews. Plot Manimaran (Sarath Kumar), his father Poochi (S. V. Ramadas), and his grandfather Nagappan ( M. N. Nambiar) are short-tempered persons who beat the villagers for a simple quarrel. Only Manimaran's mother, Sivagami (Lakshmi), can control them. Uma (Rajeswari), Manimaran's sister, marries a man from another village. Manimaran falls in love with Vaidehi ( Devayani), a Brahmin girl. Suraj (director)
Suraj (born December 31, 1977) is an Indian film director who works primarily in Tamil films. He is best known for directing action and masala films. Career In 1996, Suraj began working as an assistant director to Sundar C. on his comedy films ''Ullathai Allitha'' and ''Mettukudi''. In 1997, he continued to assist Sundar C. on '' Arunachalam'' starring Rajinikanth and he was the co-director of the film ''Janakiraman''. Then, Suraj returned to assist Sundar C. in his films. In 2006, he made his directorial comeback through ''Thalai Nagaram'', starring his mentor Sundar C., Jyothirmayi and Vadivelu. Halwa Vasu
Vasu, popularly known as Halwa Vasu, (died 17 August 2017) was a comedian in the Tamil film industry in India. He worked in around 900 films. Career Vasu who hailed from Madurai district, came to Chennai to work in cinemas after his graduation. Vasu worked as an assistant to director-actor Manivannan, he carved a niche for himself in comedy films and has also acted alongside the likes of Vadivelu. He was given the name "Halwa Vasu" after the film ''Amaidhi Padai'' (1994), in which he brings halwa which is adulterated with abin, a drug, by the antagonist in the movie who uses it to rape an innocent girl. Palani Bharathi is an Indian writer and lyricist who works in Tamil cinema. Early life Palani Bharathi was born in Karaikudi to Sami Palaniappan, a poet, and Kamala. He has a brother and four sisters. Palaniappan was an assistant of orator/writer Kundrakudi Adigal and follower of poet Bharathidasan. Chelladurai (1941 - 7 February 2015) was an Indian comedian who worked in Tamil-language films. He acted in over 350 films. Career Chelladurai made his film debut with ''Thooral Ninnu Pochchu'' (1982). He is known for his comic sequences with actor Vadivelu. He became famous for his role in '' Shree'' (2002) as the owner of a wine shop named Prabha. In the scene, Marimuthu (Vadivelu) calls the owner and asks when the shop will open. The owner tells him that the store closed. Vadivelu drinks alcohol and repeatedly disturbs the shop owner during the night. Death Chelladurai was admitted to Keezhpakkam Government Hospital in Chennai due to kidney issues on 8 February after having problems for several months.
