Moorefield is a census-designated place (CDP) in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, 2010 census, the CDP was named Moorefield Station, and the population was 77. As of 2019, the estimated population was 1,976. Moorefield is a mixed-use development currently in progress, located at the Ashburn station (Washington Metro), Ashburn station currently under construction at the planned terminus of the Metrorail Silver Line (Washington Metro), Silver Line. Geography Moorefield is in the Ashburn, Virginia, Ashburn portion of eastern Loudoun County, on the southwest side of the Dulles Greenway (Virginia State Route 267). Ashburn Station (Washington Metro)
Ashburn station is a Washington Metro station in Loudoun County, Virginia, United States, that serves as the Silver Line's western terminus. Originally planned to begin operation in 2016, the station opened on November 15, 2022. Ashburn station is located at the median of the Dulles Greenway (SR 267) east of Old Ryan Road (SR 772). It is the farthest station from downtown Washington. The station has two pedestrian bridges leading to either side of the Dulles Greenway, with bus bays and kiss and ride lots on both sides, as well as 1,650 parking spaces on each side. Broad Run (Loudoun County, Virginia)
Broad Run is a tributary of the Potomac River in Loudoun County, Virginia. The creek, located between Goose Creek and Sugarland Run, principally drains portions of eastern Loudoun County, as well as a small portion of western Fairfax County. The headwaters of the creek are located about northeast of Aldie. The creek flows eastward near Arcola and continues generally northeast to its mouth at the Potomac near the southern end of Seldon's Island to the north of Sterling and about southeast of Leesburg. The watershed of the creek is 67.5 mi2 (175 km2) in Loudoun and 23.8 mi2 (62 km2) in Fairfax. The majority of the run forms the border between the unincorporated areas of Ashburn and Sterling. Leesburg is a town in the state of Virginia, and the county seat of Loudoun County. Settlement in the area began around 1740, which is named for the Lee family, early leaders of the town and ancestors of Robert E. Lee. It is a Toll Brothers community located near the planned Ashburn Metro station complex and Moorefield Station town center in the southern part of Ashburn, Virginia. Loudoun Valley Estates is governed by a homeowners' association. It was formerly part of the county planning commission's Urban Policy Area but has been removed. State Route 267 (SR 267) is a primary state highway in the US state of Virginia. It consists of two end-to-end toll roads – the Dulles Toll Road and Dulles Greenway – as well as the non-tolled Dulles Access Road, which lies in the median (road), median of Dulles Toll Road and then extends east to Falls Church, Virginia, Falls Church. The Silver Line is a rapid transit line of the Washington Metro system, consisting of 34 stations in Loudoun County, Fairfax County and Arlington County, Virginia, Washington, D.C., as well as Prince George's County, Maryland. The Silver Line runs from in Virginia to in Maryland.
