Moonflower (album)
''Moonflower'' is a double album released in 1977 by Santana. The recording features both studio and live tracks, which are interspersed with one another throughout the album. It is perhaps the group's most popular live album, because the 1974 album ''Lotus'' did not receive a U.S. domestic release until 1991. It displays a mix between the fusion of Latin and blues-rock styles of the late 1960s and early 1970s, and the much more experimental and spiritual jazz fusion sound that characterized the band's mid-1970s work. The live material was recorded during the supporting tour for the '' Amigos'' album. A cover version of the Zombies' mid-1960s hit song "She's Not There" was released as a single and peaked at #27. The song was the first Santana recording to hit the Top 40 of the ''Billboard'' charts since "No One to Depend On" reached #36 in 1972. Leon Patillo
Leon Norman Patillo (born January 1, 1947) is an American Contemporary Christian music, contemporary Christian singer, keyboardist, and evangelist. Career Patillo's first musical endeavor was with the group Creation, later called Leon's Creation. Formed in the late 1960s, Creation was a funk group similar in style and composition to Sly & the Family Stone; they were signed to Atlantic Records. Aside from Creation, Patillo worked at times with Funkadelic and Martha & the Vandellas. In 1974, Patillo joined Santana (band), Santana, in time to record the album ''Borboletta''. He left in 1975, but returned in late 1976 and recorded the ''Festival (Santana album), Festival'' album. Afterwards, he launched a solo career on Word Records. Carlos Santana
Carlos Humberto Santana Barragán (; born July 20, 1947) is an American guitarist who rose to fame in the late 1960s and early 1970s with his band Santana, which pioneered a fusion of Rock and roll and Latin American jazz. Its sound featured his melodic, blues-based lines set against Latin American and African rhythms played on percussion instruments not generally heard in rock, such as timbales and congas. He experienced a resurgence of popularity and critical acclaim in the late 1990s. In 2015, ''Rolling Stone'' magazine listed him at No. 20 on their list of the 100 greatest guitarists. ''Supernatural'' is the eighteenth studio album by American rock band Santana, released on June 15, 1999, on Arista Records. After Santana found themselves without a label in the mid-1990s, founding member and guitarist Carlos Santana began talks with Arista president Clive Davis, who had originally signed the group to Columbia Records in 1969. Santana and Davis worked with A&R man Pete Ganbarg, as Santana wanted to focus on pop and radio-friendly material. "No One to Depend On" is a song by Latin rock band Santana, from their 1971 album, ''Santana III''. The main melody of the song is taken from "Spanish Grease", first recorded by Willie Bobo in 1965. It was written by Mike Carabello, Coke Escovedo, and Gregg Rolie. Background It is the second track on the first side of the LP album and was released as its second single. The song is very instrumentally based, with numerous bass and guitar riffs and a long instrumental introduction. The vocals start after 56 seconds. At the start of the song, a man can be heard saying something in Spanish. It is commonly believed to be the Spanish phrase, "Salpica Micaela," said by José "Chepito" Areas himself to the other musicians about the style (rhythm or "feel") to play the song. The Zombies
The Zombies are an English rock band formed in the early 1960s in St Albans and led by keyboardist and vocalist Rod Argent and vocalist Colin Blunstone. The group had a British and American hit in 1964 with "She's Not There". In the US, two further singles—"Tell Her No" in 1965 and "Time of the Season" in 1968—were also successful. ''Amigos'' is the seventh studio album by Santana released in 1976. It generated a minor U.S. hit single in "Let It Shine" and was the band's first album to hit the top ten on the ''Billboard'' charts since ''Caravanserai'' in 1972 (it ultimately reached gold record status).
