Monument To Muslim Magomayev
The Monument to Muslim Magomayev is a sculptural work of the Azerbaijani sculptor and artist Omar Eldarov, dedicated to the Azerbaijani and Soviet opera, pop singer, People's Artist of the USSR Muslim Magomayev. History On March 12, 2020, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev issued an order to erect a monument to Muslim Magomayev in the city of Baku. According to the order, the Executive Power of the city of Baku, together with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was instructed to carry out activities for the construction of the monument. On August 17, 2022, a monument was opened in the Seaside National Park, which was attended by the President and First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, the wife of the singer - Tamara Sinyavskaya, Farhad Badalbeyli and others. Baku Boulevard
Baku Boulevard ( az, Dənizkənarı Milli Park, also known as National Park) is a promenade established in 1909 which runs parallel to Baku's seafront. Its history goes back more than 100 years, to a time when Baku oil barons built their mansions along the Caspian shore and when the seafront was artificially built up inch by inch. The Monument to Muslim Magomayev is a sculptural work of the Russian sculptor Alexander Iulianovich Rukavishnikov, dedicated to the Azerbaijani and Soviet opera, pop singer, People's Artist of the USSR Muslim Magomayev. History After the death of Muslim Magomayev, the Moscow City Duma decided to erect his statue. The statue was to be financed by the Crocus Group. The monument is located at the intersection of Voznesensky and Yelisey streets in Moscow. Muslim Magomayev himself once lived near here. The opening ceremony of the monument, which was prepared with the support of the Cultural and Musical Heritage Fund of Muslim Magomayev, founded by Araz Agalarov, the president of Crocus Company, took place on September 15, 2011. People’s Artiste of Azerbaijan () is the honorary title granted for contribution to the development of Azerbaijani culture. The term artiste refers to a professional entertainer, and awards creative success in the theater, cinema and music fields of art in the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was preceded by the People's Artiste of the Azerbaijan SSR (1931–1991). Assignment The honorary title "People's Artiste of Azerbaijan" was established by Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 22, 1998, along with some other titles. The President of Azerbaijan confers the honorary title on his initiative, as well as on the proposal of the National Assembly and the Cabinet of Ministers. Farhad Shamsi oghlu Badalbeyli ( az, Fərhad Şəmsi oğlu Bədəlbəyli; born 1947) is an Azerbaijani pianist and composer. People's Artist of the USSR ( rus, Народный артист СССР, Narodny artist SSSR), also sometimes translated as National Artist of the USSR, was an honorary title granted to artists of the Soviet Union. Nomenclature and significance The term is confusingly used to translate two Russian language titles: Народный артист СССР (fem. Народная артистка СССР), awarded in performing arts and Народный художник СССР, granted in some visual arts.
